TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program pays creators who are at least 18, with 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, for original videos that run over one minute and reach 1,000 For You feed views. TikTok does not publish a rate per view. As of October 2026, it pays monthly on the 15th, and each creator sees their own RPM in TikTok Studio.
Our view is that the program is worth joining once you qualify, but hard to plan around. YouTube publishes its revenue split. TikTok publishes the factors and keeps the formula to itself.
Who is eligible for the TikTok Creator Rewards Program?
You need to be 18 or older, have 10,000 followers and have 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. TikTok’s help center and US terms list the full set of conditions.
- Be at least 18 years old, or 19 in South Korea.
- Have at least 10,000 followers.
- Have at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
- Use a personal account. Business accounts and accounts of governments, politicians and political parties are not eligible.
- Live in, and register your account in, one of the 8 program countries listed below.
- Keep the account in good standing, with authentic details such as your real name and date of birth.
- Link a payment account in your own name and finish onboarding, including tax forms.
Japan and South Korea have a higher follower bar. TikTok’s program terms for those two countries, last updated April 2025, require 50,000 authentic followers alongside the same 100,000 views.
You apply in the app. Open TikTok Studio from the menu on your profile, tap Creator Rewards Program and submit. TikTok says you will hear back within about 3 days.
Why do TikTok videos have to be over one minute?
Only videos over one minute long can earn Creator Rewards. TikTok built the program around longer content when it launched it out of beta in March 2024, describing eligible videos as “over a minute long.” Its Creator Academy still says over 1 minute, while its US terms say at least 1 minute, so a video of exactly 60 seconds is a gamble.
Length is not the only rule. Videos must be original, meaning you filmed, designed and produced them yourself. TikTok says duets, stitches, lip syncs, looped clips and ads do not count as original. Only videos posted after you join the program can earn.
Do not pad a 40-second idea to 61 seconds. Play duration, which TikTok defines as watch time and finish rate, feeds into your RPM, so a stretched video can earn less per view than a tight one.
What counts as a qualified view?
A qualified view lasts at least 5 seconds, or at least 30 seconds when the viewer found the video through search. Each account counts once per video, so rewatches do not add up.
The view must also come from one of the 8 program countries. TikTok excludes fraudulent and paid views and views from people who tapped “I’m not interested,” and its US terms also exclude artificial views and views from your own or connected accounts.
A video earns nothing until it reaches 1,000 views on the For You feed. After that, it starts earning rewards.
How does TikTok calculate Creator Rewards pay?
TikTok pays a Standard Reward based on qualified views and RPM, plus an Additional Reward for quality, engagement and specialization. TikTok defines RPM as the average rewards collected per 1,000 qualified views.
TikTok’s help center says these factors set your RPM:
- Video performance, including watch time and finish rate.
- Search value, including traffic from search results.
- Your location and your viewers’ locations.
- Video engagement.
- Advertising value, based on viewers’ ad watch time.
The Additional Reward favors videos that “focus on a specific theme or area of expertise,” in TikTok’s words. When TikTok launched the program in 2024, it named originality, play duration, search value and audience engagement as the four metrics that drive pay.
TikTok’s US terms say it decides rewards at its sole discretion and may set monthly or annual caps. As a worked example with an invented RPM, if TikTok Studio showed $0.50 RPM on a video with 200,000 qualified views, the Standard Reward would be $100. The $0.50 is an example input, not a TikTok rate.
When and how does TikTok pay Creator Rewards?
TikTok calculates rewards in the month after you earn them and pays on the 15th. TikTok’s US program terms, last updated July 20, 2026, set a minimum payment threshold of $50, and its Japan and South Korea terms set the same $50.
Your payment method can add its own minimum on the Balance page, and you can raise it to pay fewer transfer fees. Both sets of terms name PayPal, through Hyperwallet, as the payment processor. TikTok’s Creator Academy says withdrawals to PayPal, Pix or a bank account are usually processed within 72 hours, though your bank may hold the money longer.
In the US, the program is now run by TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC. CNBC reported that the joint venture was formed on January 22, 2026, when the sale of TikTok’s US operations to an American investor group went through.
Which countries have the TikTok Creator Rewards Program?
TikTok’s Creator Academy lists 8 countries as of October 2026, the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Mexico and Brazil. You must live in one of them with an account registered there, and only views from those countries count.
TikTok publishes separate program terms for the US, Mexico, the European Economic Area, and Japan and South Korea. The Japan and South Korea terms require 50,000 followers instead of 10,000.
How else can you make money on TikTok?
TikTok pays creators through LIVE Gifts, TikTok Shop commissions and brand deals, and none of them need one-minute videos. The thresholds differ from Creator Rewards.
| Income source | Main requirement | What you earn |
|---|---|---|
| LIVE Gifts | 18 or older, 19 in South Korea, and eligible to go LIVE | Diamonds from gifts viewers send |
| TikTok Shop affiliate, US | 1,000 followers, 18 or older, based in the US | Commission on products you promote |
| TikTok One brand projects | 18 or older, 1,000 followers plus each project’s own criteria | Fees from brands |
| Brand deals you find yourself | No platform minimum | Whatever you negotiate |
TikTok Shop’s US program puts creators under 5,000 followers into a pilot program for at least 30 days with limited features. TikTok’s LIVE monetization guide does not say how much of a gift’s value reaches the creator.
Paid posts need TikTok’s Commercial Content Disclosure setting, which adds a Paid partnership label. TikTok says the label does not change how it recommends a video, but undisclosed commercial content may be kept off the For You feed. Brands that want to run your post as an ad use a Spark Ads code you generate, valid for 7, 30, 60 or 365 days. Our guides on how brand deals work and how to price sponsored posts cover those deals.
Is the TikTok Creator Rewards Program worth it?
Yes, if you already make videos over a minute and clear the thresholds. The program costs nothing to join and pays on views you were getting anyway.
The catch is predictability. YouTube pays a published 55% of long-form ad revenue, while TikTok sets your RPM with factors it does not weight publicly.
