TikTok's Creator Rewards Program pays for original videos over 1 minute once you have 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days, but TikTok does not publish its rates. Subscriptions pay 70% of revenue after app store fees, up to 90% with a monthly bonus, and TikTok sets the cash value of LIVE gifts at its own discretion. As of October 2026, TikTok runs in the US through TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, formed in January 2026.
TikTok gives creators the best odds of reaching strangers, then pays them through programs whose rates it keeps private. As of October 2026, the Creator Rewards Program pays for original videos over 1 minute once you have 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days. Subscriptions pay 70% of revenue after app store fees. Our view is simple. Build reach on TikTok, then cash it in through brand deals and TikTok Shop, because the direct payouts are hard to plan around.
How much does TikTok take?
TikTok publishes a revenue split for one product, Subscription, where you get 70% of what’s left after Apple or Google take their fee. Every other program pays at rates TikTok sets and doesn’t disclose.
| Program | How you earn | Published split |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | Monthly fee from subscribers | 70% after app store fees, up to 90% with bonus |
| Creator Rewards Program | Standard Reward on qualified views, plus Additional Reward for high quality videos | None |
| LIVE Gifts | Gifts become Diamonds, which you cash out | None, TikTok sets the rate |
| Video Gifts | Gifts on eligible videos become Diamonds | None |
| TikTok Shop | Affiliate earnings on products sold through your content | Not in TikTok’s creator guide |
| TikTok One | Fees agreed with brands on campaigns | Set per project |
Here is a worked example on the published Subscription split. If 100 fans pay $10 a month and the app store keeps 30%, $700 is left and TikTok pays you 70% of that, or $490. If the store keeps 15%, you get $595. TikTok doesn’t say which store fee applies to your subscribers, so we don’t give a single take-home figure for TikTok.
How do TikTok payouts work?
TikTok pays all programs into one Balance page, and each program runs on its own cycle of weekly, every two weeks or monthly. You can’t choose the cycle. Transactions that miss a cutoff roll into the next one.
Creator Rewards runs monthly. TikTok’s US terms, last updated July 20, 2026, say it calculates rewards in the month after you earn them and pays on the 15th once you have at least $50, and its Japan and South Korea terms set the same schedule and minimum.
Your payment method can set its own minimum payout, and you can raise it in Balance settings to pay fewer transfer fees. A maximum payout also applies and varies by region. Withdrawals to PayPal, Pix or a bank account are typically processed within 72 hours, though TikTok says your bank may hold the money longer.
No payout date appears until you add a payment method, submit tax information and verify your identity. If TikTok permanently bans your account, you forfeit any unpaid Creator Rewards.
How do you make money on TikTok?
Creator Rewards Program
The Creator Rewards Program pays for original videos over 1 minute long. As of October 2026 you need to:
- Live in and register your account in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico or Brazil.
- Use a personal account. Business accounts and government or political accounts don’t qualify.
- Be at least 18, or 19 in South Korea.
- Have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
- Keep the account in good standing with TikTok’s Community Guidelines.
TikTok’s separate program terms for Japan and South Korea, last updated April 2025, raise the follower bar there to 50,000.
You apply in TikTok Studio and hear back within three days. Each video must be original, over 1 minute, get at least 1,000 views on the For You feed and be posted in 1080p or higher. Duets, Stitches, Photo Mode posts and ads or sponsored videos don’t qualify.
TikTok only counts qualified views. A view must last at least 5 seconds, or 30 seconds for search views, and repeat views from one account count once. Views must come from the 8 program countries, fraudulent and paid views are excluded, and taps on “I’m not interested” don’t count. Since spring 2025, your total is a Standard Reward plus an Additional Reward for well-made, engaging and specialized content.
Five video violations in 30 days make your account ineligible for the program. Five account violations in total make it permanent. Our guide to the TikTok Creator Rewards Program covers how to qualify.
Subscription
Subscription needs 10,000 followers and an age of 18 or older. You pick a monthly price from $2.99 to $99.99, with $5.99 as the default, and fans pay in their local currency. TikTok pays you 70% of revenue after app store fees.
TikTok adds a 20% bonus, for up to 90%, in months when you have over 10,000 followers, over 100,000 video views in the last calendar month and post subscriber-only videos. First-timers need one subscriber-only video that month. Creators who have posted them before need three. TikTok checks eligibility every month.
LIVE Gifts and Video Gifts
Viewers buy Coins, spend them on Gifts during your LIVE, and TikTok converts those Gifts into Diamonds in your account. You must be 18 or older to go LIVE, and 18, or 19 in South Korea, to receive Gifts or withdraw Diamonds. TikTok’s Virtual Items Policy says it sets the conversion rate “in its absolute and sole discretion” and shows the cash rate at withdrawal, with daily limits.
Video Gifts work the same way on eligible regular videos, where viewers spend Coins in your comments and you get Diamonds. Because TikTok sets the rate, no one outside the company can tell you what a Diamond is worth this month.
TikTok Shop
Creators 18 or older can add affiliate product links to videos, LIVE sessions and a store page on their profile, and they earn when viewers buy without leaving TikTok. You don’t hold inventory. TikTok’s Creator Academy overview doesn’t state the follower minimum or commission rates, so check the affiliate application in TikTok Studio before you plan around it.
TikTok One
TikTok One merged the TikTok Creative Challenge and TikTok Creator Marketplace into one place for brand campaigns. You must be 18 or older and in a supported region, and projects need at least 1,000 followers plus whatever extra rules each brand sets. Brands can invite you, or you can apply to open projects. Before you quote a fee, read how brand deals work and how to price sponsored posts.
What is TikTok’s legal status in the US?
TikTok operates in the US through TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, which TikTok announced on January 23, 2026. The venture stores US user data in Oracle’s US cloud, retrains the recommendation algorithm on US data and controls trust and safety decisions. TikTok’s global US entities still handle e-commerce, advertising and marketing.
The announcement didn’t mention creator payouts. As of October 2026, TikTok’s Creator Academy still lists the US among Creator Rewards countries.
Who is TikTok best for?
TikTok suits creators who want to grow an audience quickly and who can sell that attention elsewhere, through brand campaigns, Shop commissions or a product of their own. Comedians, product reviewers and anyone comfortable on camera every day fit it well. LIVE streamers with an engaged crowd can earn from Gifts, as long as they accept TikTok’s rate.
Skip TikTok as your main income if you need to forecast revenue. TikTok doesn’t publish RPMs, sets the Diamond value itself, and takes subscriptions through app stores. Creators outside the 8 Creator Rewards countries can’t earn from that program at all.
